Mrs. Robert McMinn
Christ centered Bible based counseling integrates
Biblical truths with proven psychological principals to help individuals,
families and churches turn challenges in life into growth and fulfillment.
We provide individual & family counseling in addition
to Marriage retreats, workshops, seminars and specialty classes addressing
family & relationship issues.
Bob & Jacki have a unique marriage testimony and over
30 years counseling and various other church experience. Rev Bob (MA counseling)
is bi-vocational as VP of a large corporation and Associate Pastor which affords
a wealth of experience in relating to a variety life’s challenges. Jacki’s years
of experience with troubled and challenged youth along with her spiritual gifts
and keen insight compliment their extensive training. Bob has been a member of
AACC (American Association of Christian Counselors) since 2000 with numerous
additional AACC training certifications and is a Certified Behavioral Analyst.
Counseling is approached as a ministry to the hurting
& wounded to achieve healing and restoration to wholeness and a victorious life
that only God can provide. We encourage counselee’s to be actively involved in
their home church.

SPECIAL CHILDREN JUST WANT A
HAND UP NOT A HAND OUT
12/27/11
Dear
Pastor & Christian worker,
It is
reported that as many as 3.5 million Americans are families of special needs
children and as many as 80% do not attend church. Due to their unique pressures,
the divorce rate is reported to be over 80%. People often feel misunderstood,
isolated and alone. Special needs in children range from learning disabilities
such as ADD, ADHD, OCD, ODD, Autism, Aspergers, etc to more limiting issues like
Cerebral Palsy or other disabilities.
With the
changes in our society today, increase of divorce, blended families and single
parent households, the opportunity for the church to understand and reach out as
God’s extended hand is more necessary now more than ever. Families are desperate
for an understanding and caring place where they can be accepted and welcomed.
Their children are overwhelmingly important to them and they sacrifice much of
their life to meet the needs of their children. At the same time, these young
innocent children are growing up having to adjust to their limitations while
feeling ostracized, misunderstood and lonely.
No
command appears more often in the Old Testament than the command to show
hospitality to the stranger. Exodus 23:9,
‘You shall not oppress a stranger, you know the heart of a stranger for you were
strangers in the land of Egypt’.
The
Stanley PH Church will be hosting a special workshop to educate Christian
workers of this growing population and unique ways to minister the love and
acceptance of Christ to the families in distress. The stress on these families
is enormous and they need the peace, fellowship and discipleship offered by a
caring church to bring their life into the wholeness and healing love of Christ.
Attendees will hear from the perspectives of experienced care givers, counselors
and Pastors and gain an understanding of the unique pressure present and how to
minister effectively the love of God to them in our churches and small groups
and still minister to the general population.
We
invite you and your friends and staff to attend this seminar.
